After graduating from the study program, you will understand the research problems at the crossroads of several branches of Catholic theology.


You will be able to develop and evaluate the concepts, theories and methods of your selected specialization.


You will acquire new professional knowledge for your own creative activities in the selected specialization and for teaching in at least one foreign language.

Program Structure

Your studies will follow an individual study plan that will be drawn up in collaboration with your supervisor. The curriculum consists of a combination of compulsory and elective courses.

Four Pillars of Study

  • Advanced study under the guidance of the supervisor
  • Preparation of the dissertation under the guidance of the supervisor
  • Meetings of doctoral students 3 times per semester
  • Other courses

Requirements

  • Passing a foreign language exam
  • Completing part of your studies abroad / participating in an international project
  • Writing a review for a peer-reviewed journal
  • Preparing eight topics for the state doctoral exam (they must not overlap with the content of the dissertation)
  • Preparing and defending a licentiate thesis (it may consist of part of the dissertation)
  • Writing a dissertation of at least 120 pages – it must contain original and published results or results accepted for publication
