Competencies & Employment
After graduating from the study program, you will understand the research problems at the crossroads of several disciplines.
You will be able to develop and evaluate the concepts, theories and methods of your specialization.
You will acquire new professional knowledge for your own creative activities in your selected specialization.
You will find employment in academic, research or administrative positions. You will have the ability to participate in basic and applied research at all types of academic institutions and universities in theology and Christian thought.

Program Structure
Your studies will follow an individual study plan that will be drawn up in collaboration with your supervisor. The curriculum consists of a combination of compulsory and elective courses.
The list of courses includes the following
- Study of christian thought
- Academic writing
- Participation in research activities
- Participation in academic activities
- Latin, Greek, Biblical Hebrew (elective courses with respect to the dissertation thesis)
- Christian philosophy
- Theology of the early church
- Church history (elective courses)
Requirements
- Passing a foreign language exam
- Completing part of your studies abroad / participating in an international project
- Writing a review for a peer-reviewed journal
- Preparing eight topics for the state doctoral exam (they must not overlap with the content of the dissertation)
- Writing a dissertation of at least 120 pages – it must contain original and published results or results accepted for publication
